FOUNDERS

H2O was founded in 2021 by Dr. Leon Shapiro, an avid cyclist and fitness enthusiast due to the simple desire to improve physical performance and recovery time. Having trained six days per week on his bike, Dr. Shapiro understood the importance and difference that accurate hydration monitoring can make on athletes, those working in extreme conditions, and even people who simply want to improve their health. 

 

Lacking any accurate hydration monitoring solutions, he created his own with the help of Dimitri Ivanovski, a software engineer with more than two decades of experience in developing medical software systems. In combination with his son, Jacob Shapiro, the three developed the first real time hydration monitoring software that can be integrated into existing hardware. 

Leonid Shapiro MD

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and  Co-Founder

An avid cyclist, Dr. Shapiro understands the difference that proper hydration can make. His background as a trained anesthesiologist with over30 years in clinical anesthesiology, helps to understand the limitations of current hydration measurement techniquesinside and outside of clinical settings. As such, he focuses on developing accurate, mobile hydration monitoring software that can be integrated into different systems has been used to provide acurate tool to effectively train and to get the benefits of proper hydration. His vision is that H2O’s software will provide the winning difference in the Tour de France, of which he is a major fan. 

Dimitri Ivanovski

Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Co-Founder

A software enthusiast and professional with over 20 years of experience, Dimitri has spent most of his career developing medical billing and record management software. As such his experience and exposure to the medical field and their limitations has proven useful. Dimitri understands that data and medical data is inherently personal and that needs to be reflected within the software. His AI assisted neural network approach has innovated H2O’s software to new heights. 

Jacob Shapiro

Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Co-Founder

A serial entrepreneur, Jacob has spent the last 7 years developing and scaling business across industries primarily focused on F&B. He understands the need for effective administration and management within any enterprise. His focus on customer satisfaction and developing product-market fit is reflected in the success of his past bakery and catering ventures. Beyond that his work in the FMCG industry showed him the scale that can be achieved within the operation of an effective enterprise.
